Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has definately arrived here in North Carolina. The trees have blossomed and are now starting to leaf out. The grass is growing and we had to cut it for the first time on Saturday. We are enjoying the warmer weather!
It was very windy last week so the kids and I decided to go fly a kite, up to the highest height! We have just the right amount of space in our yard to really let them fly.

Aubrey was a natural. She loved flying her Barbie kite. She wasn't too happy with it when it crashed. We learned that when the wind doesn't blow hard enough the kite will fall down. She spent a lot of the time telling Mr. Wind to blow hard please!

We also were able to invite friends over to play. Jason is really enjoying his "Nascar" race which includes crashes and pit stops!

This is Jason's friend from church, Michael. They are super quiet in primary but get them together to play and you may need ear plugs.

These are Michael's sisters Eden and Avery. They've come to play with the cheerful little Aubrey Larson. They played dress up and babies. As you can see, Aubrey takes after her father! :)

This was after preschool. Aubrey and her friends had to dress up and they sure looked cute. She decided to smile for us here!

Spring also means SOCCER!!! Aubrey started this year along with Jason who is an old pro. She was excited to get her cleats, shin guards, and shirt. Her team is called the Bumblebees.

Saturday was the first game. Her coaches didn't show up and so a nice kid and the director of the YMCA filled in. The kids at this point are pretty clueless to what is happening.

During this pep talk, the kids are reminded to kick the ball in the right direction. We struggled early on with this. About 2 minutes into the game, Aubrey and another kid collided head on. Aubrey was knocked to the ground and was the first on the injured list. She had quite a goose egg on her head. She kept telling me that soccer was a very tricky game. We finally convinced her to go back in and play during the last quarter. She kicked the ball a few times and decided that she liked soccer after all, injury and all.

Here's the injury tonight, two days later. We have a nice shade of purple going on and we are happy because purple is our favorite color!

Oh, poor lil' Aubrey!!!!! That looks like it hurts. Looks like life is good in NC. I wish I could come out again......it's a bit hard to get time off. Give the kids a big hug and kiss from their Aunt Lefa!!! Love you!
