Snow! Snow! Snow!

A couple of weeks ago we woke up on Monday morning and were greeted by this beautiful sight! This is a great view from our deck.

The front porch view wasn't bad either. Everything looks so fresh and clean. We almost hated disturbing this snowy scene.

Of course that thought lasted about 2 seconds! There was a mad dash for snowsuits, hats, gloves and boots. Snowballs and snowangels were quickly made.

Now because we hardly ever get any measurable snow, we don't have a sled. (We are going to fix that next year!) We weren't deterred though. A cardboard computer box does a pretty good job as a sled.
It took some trial and error, but we finally figured it out and had fun testing it on our driveway!

Aubrey had a great time and could zip down the hill pretty good.

The best part was the wipe out at the end. One hand up means "I'm good!"

Our winter wonderland didn't last too long. A few days later we only had a little patch of snow in the front of the house. We decided to make our very first snowman. In North Carolina, we use sand pails to gather the snow. It's the alternative snowman construction method!

We collected snow from bushes, wagons and the ground and soon had the beginnings of a great miniature snowman!

After a few final touches, we were finished. We would like to introduce you to "Crusty" the Larson's very first snow toddler.

Aubrey had to make sure Crusty was okay and that he knew we were happy to have him at our house.
She welcomed him into the family with a big hug and told him that she loved him!

"Once there was a snowman not very tall."

"In the sun he melted, melted, melted,

In the sun he melted. Small, Small

SMALL!
