Karate Tournament Success!

I finally decided to get my butt in gear and get these on the blog. I hope to find our cable for the camcorder and get some video also. Anyway, Jason was really nervous. He told me before he had to go out on the mats that his stomach felt sick. Mine was queasy too.
His first event was Randori, which is where you have to take your opponent down to the mat. Jason is the one on the left and he did pretty good. Mom is of course having to bite her tongue and refrain from yelling.

Jason did real well and got his guy down three times to win the match. YEAH!!!!

This is the 2nd round and this little kid was scrappy!

They really struggled against each other. I thought I would have a seizure before it was over. Jason lost the match 2 to 3 but did an excellent job.

The next event was Sparring/Swordfighting. They have to hit their opponent on top of the head, a gab in the chest or on the legs. Jason got the most aggressive kid in the bunch and had a harder time. Now if Aubrey was his opponent he would have whomped on her. There is something about cremating your little sister that is inspiring to little boys.
The last event was grappling, which is a little like wrestling. I didn't get a good picture of this becuase my camera sucked that day or was it the photographer!?
Jason did a fantastic job in his 1st tournament. Even though he was scared he did his best and got lots of great experience. We are so proud of him and he is truly a champion in our eyes!
